Promotion Overview

This promotion is offered by Costco Wholesale Australia (ABN 57 104 012 893) (Promoter) and Petsy Pty Ltd (ABN 54 633 343 058, AR No. 1277359). 

The offer consists of providing eligible Costco Executive Members who purchase a new Petsy Pet Insurance policy and meet the criteria below, a digital Costco Shop Card via email, valued up to $600 (inclusive of GST) per policy period, for a maximum of three years.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an Australian resident with a cat or dog that you own and resides with you
  • Must be aged 18 or over, with an Australian address.
  • Must be an active Costco Executive Member at the time of purchase.
  • Policy must be purchased through the Petsy x Costco joined funnel petsy.com.au/costco or via Petsy’s call centre during the promotional period.

Eligibility

This offer applies to new purchases of Petsy Pet Protection Plus, Petsy Puppy Protection Plus and Petsy Kitten Protection Plus policies only.

Not available to customers with existing or previous Petsy Pet Insurance policies purchased within the previous six (6) months of purchasing a policy. 

A Pet means a dog or cat that You own and resides with You, as shown on Your Certificate of Insurance. A Pet includes cats and dogs who are training for, participating in, or are, show dogs/cats, search and rescue dogs, guide dogs, or assistance dogs. 

A Pet does not include breeds that are considered dangerous and/or banned in Australia and/or cats and dogs participating in commercial or sporting activities such as working (including farm), fighting, racing, gun sports, personal protection, guarding, or law enforcement.

Qualifying policyholders receive a Costco Shop Card, to a maximum value of $600 per policy period for a maximum of three years. The value of the shop card is determined by the policyholder’s annual spend with Petsy.

The shop card cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

To be eligible for this Shop Card, an active Australian Executive Membership must be provided at the time of purchase of the policy.

Limited to one Shop Card per membership on new policies and one Shop Card per membership for a second-year and third-year renewal. 

Shop cards are issued by email by the Costco Services Team provided that the Member has maintained both the Petsy policy and Costco Executive membership for at least 90 days after purchase.

Additional Pet Discount

Receive a 5% discount on your policy premiums when you insure two or more pets with Petsy. This discount is automatically applied through petsy.com.au/costco or on purchases made via Petsy’s call centre. If you have an existing Petsy Policy purchased through the Costco x Petsy promotion please contact Petsy Call Centre to add an additional pet to receive the 5% discount.

Costco Shop Cards

Costco Shop Card value

Costco Shop Card values vary and operate on a tiered system with the card value ranging from $30 to $600 based on each eligible Executive Member’s annual spend with Petsy. See table below. 

Policy renewals 

Each time a policyholder renews their Petsy Pet Insurance policy, they will receive a new Costco Shop Card for the subsequent year, for a maximum of three years. Costco Shop Cards valued $80 and more will be issued in two equal instalments—half in month four (4) and the other half in month ten (10) of each policy period, provided their policy is active, premiums are up to date, and they remain a Costco Executive Member at the scheduled shop card issuance dates. The tier and corresponding shop card value may change annually based on the policy holder’s spend with Petsy in the previous year. Costco and Petsy reserve the right to modify or terminate this program anytime.

The Costco Shop Card reward program is a promotional offer only and is separate from your insurance coverage. The value and receipt of shop cards do not affect your insurance policy terms, conditions, coverage, or premiums. 

Eligibility for shop cards is subject to maintaining an active policy and meeting all promotional requirements as outlined in these terms and conditions.

Shop cards will be issued via email from the Costco Services Team at least 90 days after the policy start date or renewal date, provided the policy and membership remain active and premiums are up to date. 

If the policy or membership is cancelled within this 90-day period, no shop card will be issued.

General

  1. Eligible members will receive their digital Shop Card via their nominated email at least 90 days after purchasing a Petsy Pet Insurance policy.
  2. If additional information is needed to confirm eligibility, the Promoter will notify the member by email. The member will have 14 days from the email date to respond, unless otherwise specified. If the requested information is not provided within this time, the Promoter may invalidate the Shop Card.
  3. The Promotional Period may be extended at the Promoter’s absolute discretion.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of members (including a member’s identity, contact number, and place of residence) using all other information available to the Promoter, and to disqualify any member who submits a policy application that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the policy application process. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights
  5. Eligible members are responsible for ensuring their correct contact number, Costco member number, email address, and address details are provided and any updated details are notified to the Promoter. The Promoter accepts no responsibility should an Eligible member fail to receive their Shop Card because of a failure to provide correct details or to notify of a change to those details.
  6. The Shop Card is not transferable or exchangeable and may be received only by the Eligible member. Registrations by any other person will not be accepted. The Shop Card is subject to individual merchant acceptance and in accordance with any applicable law and subject always to the individual trading terms of each participating merchant. Cards are not refundable. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the card are not included. Any unused balance of the card will not be awarded as cash.   7. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to: (a) disqualify any member; or (b) modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.
  8. Subject to paragraph 9, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any variation in the Shop Card value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a claimant; or (f) any use of the Shop Card.
  9. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (“CCA”) or any other legislation which may not be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. If the CCA or any other legislation implies a condition, warranty or term into the Terms and Conditions or provides statutory guarantees in connection with these Terms and Conditions, in respect of goods and services supplied (if any), the Promoter’s liability for breach of such a condition, warranty, other term or guarantee is limited to (at the Promoter’s election), to the extent it is able to do so: (a) in the case of supply of goods, the Promoter doing any one or more of the following: (i) replacing the goods or supplying equivalent goods; (ii) repairing the goods; (iii) paying the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; and/or (iv) paying the cost of having the goods repaired; or (b) in the case of supply of services, the Promoter doing either or both of the following: (i) supplying the services again; and/or (ii) paying the cost of having the services supplied again.
  10. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales. Entrants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Privacy

The Promoter (or third parties on its behalf) may collect personal information to conduct the Promotion and disclose such information to third parties for this purpose, including agents, contractors, service providers and offer suppliers. The Validity of an Eligible member is conditional on providing this information. 

All members consent to their personal information being collected and stored for this purpose in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy available, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

Cooling-Off Period

You have 30 days from the policy commencement date to make sure you are happy with your pet insurance policy (the cooling-off period). If you decide to cancel during this time, provided you haven’t made a claim, we’ll give you a full refund of premiums paid.

To cancel your policy during the cooling-off period:

Note: If you cancel your policy during the cooling-off period:

  • Any shop cards issued will be void
  • You must repay any benefits you’ve received
  • Cancellation will be effective from your policy start date

Optional Extra Benefits

During the application process You will be provided with the option to include Optional Extra Benefits that cover certain conditions and Treatments which are not otherwise covered under the Policy.

The Optional Extra Benefits are:

Alternative Therapies, Behavioural Problems, and Dental Illness.

Examples of Alternative Therapies: Acupuncture, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy.

Examples of Behavioural Problems: Excessive licking, fur pulling, pacing and destructive chewing.

Examples of Dental Illnesses: Dental diseases, gingivitis, periodontal disease.
